Short Tips

Here are some quick, short tips for saving money.  I will add to the list when I find more time.

Number 1: Put a Dollar in an Envelope

Do this every day, once a day, and do not do anything with that envelope for a year.  I love this tip.  Wish I had done thought of it myself.  I am teaching my kids to do this with dimes.

Number 2: Only Buy Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

I used to buy a new car every 4-5 years but a friend of mine turned me on the CPO market.  These vehicles have been well-maintained, come with great warranties, cost a lot less than new vehicles, and do not depreciate nearly as much as the new cars.  I may never buy new again!

Number 3: Subscribe to Online Movies

You can choose from Blockbuster, Hulu, Netflix, and a few other online services.  You will never have to own DvDs again.  The monthly subscriptions are affordable and, let’s face it, after your kids grow tired of watching the same movie over and over again they almost never watch it again.
